瑪丁與DFA 2008評鑑飼料

剛好我家的也在吃瑪丁，剛好在PTT發表一篇文章順手轉來這。

當初是看2007年的WDJ買的，2008年WDJ沒上榜覺得怪怪的順便查一下。

接著來看評論，只列出中小型成犬的飼料，還有不好的評論。


1st Choice Adult Small & Medium Breed
中小型成犬（橘色包裝）

The main grain in the food is brewers rice. This is a low quality grain and byproduct. Barley and oats, further grains in the food, are decent quality. Cellulose is filler. It is 「purified, mechanically disintegrated cellulose prepared by processing alpha cellulose obtained as a pulp from fibrous plant materials」: otherwise known as sawdust. Beet pulp is further filler and a controversial ingredient – it is a by-product, being dried residue from sugar beets which has been cleaned and extracted in the process of manufacturing sugar. It is a controversial ingredient in dog food, claimed by some manufacturers to be a good source of fibre, and derided by others as an ingredient added to slow down the transition of rancid animal fats and causing stress to kidney and liver in the process. We note that beet pulp is an ingredient that commonly causes problems for dogs, including allergies and ear infections, and prefer not to see it used in dog food. There are less controversial products around if additional fibre is required. The food contains 'vitamins and minerals' but no information is given about these.

主要的穀類是發酵米，低品質米。

甜菜渣是副產品，同時是一個有爭議性的狗食成份，廠商說這是好的纖維來源。
甜菜渣容易造成狗狗過敏和耳朵的感染，所以不希望甜菜渣出現在狗食裡面。

 狗食成份中有維生素和礦物質，可是沒有資料顯示。

低過敏成犬骨關節強化配方（綠色包裝）

The first ingredient in this food is a named meat product, in meal form. There is a second meat product 3rd on the ingredient list, but this is unlikely to make any significant contribution to the overall meat content of the food.

第一個原料是肉類產品，雖然有第二個肉類產品（原料中的第三項），可是沒啥貢獻。

和中小型成犬（橘色）一樣，也就是原料中有發酵米和甜菜渣。

Overall, this food appears rather light in meat content but suffers more from the inclusion of a large number of low quality ingredients.

最後一段說這狗食少了一些肉，多了一些低品質的原料。

狗食成份中一樣有維生素和礦物質，不過這一篇沒評論這個。

成犬羊肉+白米低過敏配方全犬種適用（紅色）

和中小型成犬（橘色）一樣，也就是原料中有發酵米和甜菜渣。

還有狗食成份中有維生素和礦物質，可是沒有資料顯示。

Corn is a further low quality grain. It is a difficult to digest grain of limited value, and is commonly associated with allergy problems. Corn Gluten Meal is the dried residue from corn after the removal of the larger part of the starch and germ, and the separation of the bran by the process employed in the wet milling manufacture of corn starch or syrup, or by enzymatic treatment of the endosperm. In plain English, that bit of the corn leftover after most of the nutritious bits have been removed.

第二段提到狗食成份裡有玉米，玉米對狗來說不好消化，又容易造成過敏問題。
這段後面在說此玉米的來源過程，最後結論玉米大部分營養被去除。


結論

大多狗飼料會有玉米和甜菜渣，如果要完全沒有副產品（by-product）的話，飼料的費用就必須提高。

依照網拍的價錢，一包15公斤的飼料大約要花費2300$左右，這還是最低等的有機飼料，更不用提更好的六星級飼料了。

如果狗狗吃起來沒啥問題的話，飼料就不用去換了，因為狗狗不一定喜歡吃，找到適合自己狗狗的食物才是最好的。
